THE STRUGGLE IS REAL...THERE IS HOPE.
ABOUT ME
I am a compassionate therapist with a heart for people and change. Helping others find freedom on the other side of their situation is a passion of mine that began early in my life. Walking through my own personal struggles and trials, I've learned how to live a joyful, satisfying and purpose filled life.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. Having worked in residential, inpatient, and outpatient services for over 15 years, I have helped families and individuals of all ages.

As an LPC-Intern at Real Options for Women, I counseled those dealing with sexual assault and rape, as well as working with couples and their families.

My Master's Degree was obtained in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. I have completed my Licensure in the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor(LPC).
At the Baylor hospitals serving Denton and Collin Counties, I am a Crisis Interventionist, where I serve an array of patients, including those with anxiety, depression and suicidal feelings.
My work within ministry organizations has been very fulfilling--both at the grass roots level and in large corporate settings. My husband and I established mobile medical clinics in Sri Lanka helping many villages and refugees improve their day to day living.
Serving men and women--including pre-teens and teens, groups, couples and families--with a variety of different needs, I typically approach therapy from an insight-oriented, cognitive-behavioral therapy perspective. I am trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches and will utilize techniques deemed most beneficial to you.
Together, we will discuss your goals of therapy and develop a plan to best reach those goals. Therapy is aimed at providing a safe environment to help you become as healthy and whole as possible: emotionally, mentally, spiritually, physically, and relationally. I believe that all people have the capacity for growth and change in their lives, and therapy is designed to help make those changes a reality.

I am a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister and a friend.

Shania has been an amazing listening ear and helped me recognize unhealthy patterns in my life. She has also given me the tools to get my life and family back on track. It's amazing how much just saying it out loud takes away the stigma, and Shania provides a safe place to do that! Thank you, Shania!

Shania was able to help my teenage son feel so comfortable with her. Opening up conversations that I have attempted for years. I see a difference every time my son leaves the office, a lightness, a hope that I have not seen in him for awhile. As a parent, I am so grateful for Shania's expertise, her regard, and her time. Thank you.
